Bolognese sauce





 

Bolognese Sauce with fire roasted tomatoes




 

Ingredients:

1 medium onion, chopped
2 Tsp Extra-virgin olive oil
500g Ground beef 
Salt & Black pepper 
⅓ cup tomato paste
2 Garlic cloves 
4 Tsp Mixed dried herbs 
4 Fire Roasted tomatoes 
2 Tsp Red wine vinegar 
2 Tsp Brown sugar
2 cups of beef stock
1 cup red wine 


  • Method:

  1. Heat up the pan with olive oil and Add the mince Into the pan to brown ( Takes 5 to 10 minutes )
  2.  Add the Garlic,  Mixed herbs and tomato paste and fry for about 2 minutes 
  3.  Add the red wine to cook down all the alcohol 
  4.  Add the roasted tomatoes,  red wine vinegar and brown sugar and cook for 10 minutes till tomatoes are softened 
  5.  finish with the stock and cook for a further 2minutes 
  6.  Serve with either Pasta or rice

Cook time ( 25 minutes)
Servings  ( 5 to 6 )
